MOIRANG PHEE
Moirang Phee is a textile woven in a town called Moirang, phee stands for cloth. The fabric is traditionally woven on a handloom using cotton and silk with thick extra weft inserts making a design along the borders and motifs in the centre.
The client had sourced five Moirang Phee fabrics and wanted a screen to be made using a patchwork of them. The textile screens have been designed and developed by me.
The product was displayed under the story 'Local Pride' at ColourNext 2017 - an annual interior colour forecast for India.
